Usama Bin Ladin is wanted in connection with the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, which killed more than 3,000 people. Bin Ladin is wanted also for the 7 August 1998 bombings of the US Embassies in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Nairobi, Kenya, which killed 224 civilians and wounded more than 5,000 others.
