Andrew M. Liepman
Principal Deputy Director
National Counterterrorism Center
Andrew M. Liepman was appointed Principal Deputy Director at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) in June 2011, after serving as the Center’s Deputy Director for Intelligence since July 2006.
Mr. Liepman has worked in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) since 1982, spending much of his career on Middle Eastern Issues. He served three years at the Department of State, and has done a variety of Intelligence Community assignments, including positions in the original Non-proliferation Center and the National Intelligence Council. He served as the Deputy Chief of the Office of Near East and South Asian Analysis; helped spearhead the formation of the new Weapons Intelligence, Proliferation, and Arms Control Center; led the Office of Iraq Analysis; and was Deputy Director of CIA’s CounterTerrorism Center.
Mr. Liepman is a graduate from the University of California at Berkeley and is the recipient of multiple Intelligence Community awards. He and his wife live in Falls Church, Virginia.
